And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.  Isaiah 54:13

 Mission Statement

The Mission of Glasgow Christian Academy is to assist parents in “educating” students intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually in a Christ-centered environment and “equipping” students with a Christian worldview, thereby “empowering” them to engage the culture for Jesus Christ.

Purpose

The purpose of this non-denominational Christian school shall be to provide a creative, loving academic environment for students to grow socially, emotionally, physically, academically, and spiritually through individual and group learning experiences under the guidance and nurture of carefully chosen Christian administrators, teachers, and staff under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It shall be the purpose of the Glasgow Christian Academy to encourage all students to grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to emphasize the value of the eternal soul, the worth of the individual, the love of God for man, and the kinship of all people as taught in the Holy scriptures while providing students with the opportunity for achieving academic excellence.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God and is the only authoritative source for faith and practice.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons:  God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death on the cross and resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory.

We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ, surrendering to Him as Lord and Savior.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.

We believe that rebirth by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells the Christian, giving him the power to live a victorious, obedient, and effective life.

We believe that each child is a unique person, created by God in His own image, and is loved and cherished by Him.  For these reasons each child is worthy of individual time, effort, and prayer.

Vision

It is the vision of Glasgow Christian Academy to GROW:

In Spirit—to have 100% of our high school students committed to Christ and participate in at least one summer missions project during their high school years.  We want our students to be spiritual leaders in their churches, at school, and in the community.

In Enrollment— to have 600 students.

In Academics— to have 100% of our seniors attend and excel in college or other post-secondary education or training.

In Sports—to have teams in major sports competitive on a statewide basis.

In Physical Plant— to open a Preschool Academy creating more space for our

1st-12th grades, and adding additional square footage as needed.

In Staff—to maintain a highly qualified (ACSI and state certified), caring faculty to meet the instructional needs of each student.  To maintain a low teacher to pupil ratio.

MATTHEW 18 PRINCIPLE

Even in a well-run school, questions and complaints may arise.  It is important that these be handled courteously, promptly, and through the correct chain of authority.  The following steps are an application of the biblical injunction recorded in Matthew 18:15-20 for the resolution of a problem between believers:

1.  The teacher and parent are to meet privately before anyone else is involved to seek the resolution with a spirit of reconciliation.

2.  If unresolved at this level, the teacher and parent meet with a third party, the elementary supervisor.

3.  If the problem is still unresolved with the supervisor as mediator, the matter is brought before the administrator.  The administrator meets with all parties involved to reconcile the matter.

4.  If still unresolved, only when all of the above three steps have been taken will it be brought before the Academy Board.  If reconciliation still does not occur, the board makes a judgment and takes the appropriate disciplinary action.

We ask that parents agree to follow these biblical steps for a positive resolution to problems and disagreements within the school community.  Activities to be avoided at all costs include gossiping, rumors, and spreading slanderous reports.  The good reputation of other persons and of the school are to be protected and promoted.
